Sharing news on Social Sunday

God of peace and justice we pray for the people of Ukraine today. We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons. We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow, that your spirit of comfort would draw near to them. We pray for those with power over war or peace, for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions. Above all, we pray for all your precious children at risk and in fear, that you would hold and protect them. We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.

It was very good to get together on Sunday morning 27th February to share our news while also reflecting on the plight of the citizens of Ukraine. Everyone who wished was able to light a candle near the altar and have a few minutes of quiet prayer.

The atmosphere was lifted considerably with the announcement from our Churchwarden, Duncan, that the Reverends Simon and Louise Moore will be joining us in the summer as Priest in Charge and Associate Vicar.  We look forward to welcoming them and working alongside them in our parish.
