8th May was a special bank holiday to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions it was not possible to gather together for commemorative events but we were very fortunate to have the services of a very talented player who sounded the Last Post and the Reveille following two minutes silence at the war memorial at 11 am. At 3 pm the church bell was rung 75 times as another act of remembrance.
Despite the lack of a large congregation it was nonetheless a very moving occasion and we are extremely grateful to those who took part and those who organised the event and the imaginative displays in the churchyard.
